    1878 Liberty Head Gold Coin Converted to "Mother" Charm W/Back Side Polished & Etched
    Someone please correct me if I am off on my description, but this is our theory as
    to what took place with the coin's conversion.
    This is how this piece was found at an estate sale. I believe the coin is 24K gold.
    Found on an antique watch chain which looks like it is gold filled.
    Measures 18 millimeters in diameter.
    One area on rim is flat where it was rubbed to test for gold.
    Looks to have one side polished off and then "Mother" was etched on.
    Etching is well done.
