Presented here is a magnificent
Antique Art Deco Era Watch FOB Brooch Pin with Wax Seal
.
It has a 3 section design with 2 hinges. The top section is shield shaped with an ornate design and has the fastening pin in the back. The pin is still sharp and opens about 45°.
A ring fastens it to the center section that has scroll designed top and bottom that are hinged. The center part of this section has a curb link center flanked by 2 floral scrolls at the 2 ends. The last section has the wax seal that is monogrammed at the bottom.
The function of the hinges is to facilitate usage of the wax seal without removal from the garment. The overall result is a
visually stunning piece of jewelry that is functional

The whole Brooch measures
4.5” long and 0.84” wide
. Metal is unmarked but like most pieces from this era and its condition it should be gold filled. Does not stick to a magnet.
It is in
remarkable condition
for jewelry that is this old. There is no loss of plating except at a few spots at connection points in the back (may just be tarnish). The ornate designs are crisp and undamaged. There is mild tarnish between designs. Looks like it just sat in someone’s collection for decades.
