You will have 28 days from the ship date to validate the Windows using your product key or Windows will no longer boot.

A Solid State Drive has no moving parts so is much more durable than a mechanical Hard Disk Drive. It is also much quicker. It boots into Windows 3 x quicker than a standard SATA hard drive. The choice is basically whether you prefer more speed or more space for the same money. A 256GB 2.5" SATA III SSD costs more than a 500GB 2.5" SATA Hard Disk Drive, but operates at a much faster speed and is more reliable.
Any laptop that uses a 2.5" SATA hard drive is compatible with a Solid State Drive. The 2.5" SATA SSD is the exact same size, and has the exact same connector, as a 2.5" 7mm SATA hard disk drive.
Can I install this SSD in another model of laptop?
No. This SSD is for the HP EliteBook
820 G1 and 840 G1
laptops only and will not boot up in any other laptop that does not have the same SATA Operation Mode available in the BIOS and the identical Intel chipset. Unlike IDE hard drives, SATA drives with Windows installed will not boot up in any computer as the SATA Operation Mode in the BIOS must match the SATA drivers installed on the drive when Windows was installed.

The product key for your laptop will be on the Microsoft

(Certificate of Authenticity) sticker on the bottom of your laptop. On some models it is located under the battery. It will also tell you what version of Windows the product key is for.
Do I need to have a product key for the exact version of Windows?
Yes. All Microsoft Windows product keys are version specific - a Windows 7 Home Premium key will not validate Windows 7 Professional.
Does it matter if I had the 32-Bit version installed before and now want the 64-Bit version?
No. A
Windows product key will validate either 32-Bit or 64-Bit version of that same OS. Even if you had 32-Bit installed before you can switch to the 64-Bit version and validate it with the same product key.
